Ecovero Viscose

Ecovero Viscose in our collection comes in the form of velour for our tees and underwear and as a satin fabric for dresses and tops as an alternative to silk satin. Velour is similar to velvet, and also has a shiny surface and tactile handfeel. As it's more durable, we chose it for our underwear and base layers. Satin, on the other hand, is smooth and fluid, with a subtle sheen and slightly more structure. Viscose is made of cellulose that comes from wood fibers. The wood fibers in Ecovero Viscose are fully traceable to sustainably managed forests in Europe. 60% of the trees used come from Austria and Bavaria, where the fabric is also produced. Nearly all chemicals used during production are recovered and reused in producing more yarn by the textile mills.

The whole supply chain from production to disposal has a lower environmental impact, which has been certified by the EU Ecolabel. The production requires up to 50% less water and up to 50% less CO2 emissions than generic viscose, which is why it was important for us to use this fiber. The fiber bleaching is chlorine-free. We recommend hand washing for viscose at a low temperature, but if you machine wash, always put your garment in a washing bag to prevent damage and use a delicate cycle. To reduce washes, you can use a delicate fabric refreshing spray or steam. Avoid using fabric softeners, as they can coat the fibers, lessening the natural absorbency and breathability of the material, wearing them down or damaging the surface by creating pilling.
