About our Dresses

Our dresses come in both woven and knitted fabrics, in natural and recycled fibers. The woven dresses can be seen with wild silk, cotton poplin, fine linen, crinkle linen, silk crepe, and satin fabrics. Our knit dresses come in the linen seacell rib, lyocell jersey and regenerative cotton jersey. We have introduced both long and short sleeve dresses in different lengths from mini dresses all the way to full length. What the dresses have in common is often some level of adjustability or possibility to wear in different ways. Many of our dresses can work for different occasions. On the Yumi Apron and Ligo Dress product pages, you can find a video demonstrating one way of wearing the dress, and the images often show the dresses styled in different ways. Wrap dresses like the Apron are mainstays in the collection. The Pictorial Dress has a drawstring that allows the wearer to choose whether to wear the dress asymmetrical, or as a midi or mini dress.

Our design language is minimal, built around essential silhouettes where fabric and fiber lie at the heart of both the aesthetic and the methodology. The material and fabric itself guides the design, shaping each piece to reduce waste, maximize flexibility, and extend both the lifespan and afterlife of every garment.

We recommend a cold wash on a gentle cycle using natural detergent and hang drying for most of our dresses. The gentle cycle wears the fabric down less, and natural detergent (especially with neutral PH) can retain the color and elastane for longer. Hand washing is always a good option too. To reduce washes, we recommend airing or freezing your garments and spot cleaning whenever you have a stain. Avoid using fabric softeners on natural and delicate fabrics, as they can coat the fibers, lessening the natural absorbency and breathability of the material, wearing them down or damaging the surface by creating pilling.
