For our Portrait series, we reached out to some of our longest-standing production partners to talk about their work, how it has evolved over the years, and their hopes for the future. Meet the people we work with in production.
I am a commercial textile merchandiser, and my job is to help my clients find a factory fit for their needs and for the specific products they want to develop and help in the process from the beginning until the delivery of the product. The most challenging part is to adapt to the way each client works. We work with clients from all parts of the world and each one works in a different way. But we always try to adapt within our standard processes to make sure the work runs more smoothly. During the last decade, the production timelines have changed and the people who are at the factories are not just a number anymore. Their schedules and their rights are now more of a priority and the urgency of having the garments ready is now talked about in a new way, prioritizing that the environment at a factory is healthy, but that the needs of the clients are also considered.
I have worked with Baserange for almost 15 years, and I love the work and the people that make Baserange a great team to work with. Also, their clothes are for women who are not afraid to be who they are and feel beautiful in their own bodies. Even being post-partum, I felt good with how the clothes fit me.
It felt amazing to wear the clothes. The clothes fit so well on the body of every woman, are super comfortable and the fabrics are soft. Everyone made me feel super comfortable, and were nice and super friendly, guiding me as it’s my first time modelling. Feeling comfortable to me means that when you wear a garment, you not only feel comfortable wearing it, but also that the people who made that garment have had a healthy work environment, feel safe, and have their rights respected. That people are not just a number but human beings.
Becoming a mom for the second time, I just want to enjoy my family as it grows and see my children grow and be happy and for me this is my ultimate dream. Also, I really hope the world becomes a better place with better leaders. I think after thousands of years on our planet, we should be more evolved in this matter.
