Cutting Table Connection

 

We visited our Turkish factory located in Birgi to be a part of their sewing workshop for a few days and share the cutting table.

 

We were connecting through the process, sharing leftover fabric pieces from pattern making. When layers of fabric are cut into the shape of a sleeve, front or back part, leftover fabric appears around those shapes.

 

Those leftover off-cut shapes were collected and shared and through the days grew into a generous pile of off-cuts ready to be worked into another composition.

 

Repair pieces were created from the off-cut fabrics without cutting further into them or adjusting them, leaving the shapes intact in the shape they were cut in to begin with.
