About our Outerwear

Wool is especially good for layering and outerwear because it regulates body temperature and is breathable. Our outerwear is designed to be layered with other pieces from the collection and other natural materials. The brushed wool coats and jackets come with either button or tie closure. We also have brushed wool vests and capes, designed to bring an added layer of warmth to your colder weather styling. Wool is made by shearing the sheep, after which impurities are removed. The wool is then separated into different quality classes based on fiber diameter, length, and color. It can be seen as a natural technical fabric without needing to use man-made materials or chemicals, because of its properties. Wool naturally absorbs moisture without feeling wet or cold, is antibacterial, and has odor-fighting properties. The natural crimps of wool allow the fabric to maintain its shape well and endure stretching. This allows for everyday movement without changing the shape of the garment.

Cotton also works well for outerwear as it is durable and breathable, especially in the heavier gabardine and denim we use for our outerwear collection. We also introduce more technical materials, like our waxed cotton, which gives more features like being water repellent and windproof. Using organic cotton is important for us as it supports good soil health and ecosystems. Organic farms also generally support more plant and animal species, supporting the biodiversity of farms. It relies on natural cycles and local conditions.

For brushed wool outerwear, professional dry cleaning is recommended to preserve both the surface texture and the shape of the garment. If hand washing at home, use cool water with minimal handling. Soak briefly without rubbing, as agitation can damage the raised surface. Lay flat to dry, brushed side up, away from direct heat and sunlight.
