Cotton Denim

For Spring 2026, we are using a silk cotton denim for the first time. We chose this fabric to replace some of the cotton in the denim with an alternative fiber; we have experimented with recycled cotton & hemp so far. Silk is an interesting fiber to use in denim because it is perceived as a precious fiber. The denim has some texture with slubs, like in our wild silk fabric.

It is an important fabric for us as it gives continuity to a long-term relationship with our silk fabric supplier in Türkiye. It allows us to support local communities in continuing their silk traditions and the ecosystem they have created for silk production. These ecosystems employ rural populations, where most of the income goes back to the farmers, and the process doesn’t require harsh chemicals.
