Structure
This repair technique grew as a part of a study on using off-cuts. Off-cuts are made using the cutting waste from our production. In this technique, we use the fabric waste as a sort of trim, wrapping it around edges or hems to create uneven voluminous edges.
In these pieces, we used placements that connect to the skeleton structure, for instance, the spine, the ribs or the thigh bones running on each side. We wanted to give these areas more softness by adding the technique to lessen the pressure on the bones.
