Recycled Denim
Origin: Portugal
Certifications: GRS, Oeko-tex

    • The recycled denim jersey we use comes from a recycling mill in Northern Portugal, close to our factories.

    • Made of used denim and jeans that are sorted based on color. The sorted denim is broken up by a machine that ensures no chemical, water or dye needs to be used.

    • Fabrics come in different shades of blue denim, allowing us to use an ‘undyed’ fabric with a color pigment, like our recycled wool.

    • Allows us to reduce our resource use from energy, chemicals, water and land use.

    • Recycled cotton is often paired with virgin cotton to improve the quality of the finished fabric.

Wash your denim less to extend its life – you can air it out instead. We recommend washing your denim at a maximum 30°C inside out on a gentle cycle, as heat and friction wear the fabric down. The gentle cycle helps reduce creases and friction. Button up before washing to protect the fabric and help the garment keep its shape. Always wash with similar colors to avoid color transfer, and wash new denim separately for the first few washes as the fabric may still carry excess dye. Use a mild, pH-neutral detergent and a washing bag for extra protection. Lightly pull/stretch the denim to straighten it before hanging it to dry in the shade.

Don't bleach, rub, wring, tumble dry or dry clean as this can damage your denim. Avoid fabric softener, as it can coat the fibers, lessening the natural absorbency and breathability.
