Naturally dyed with basalt - Due to the nature of dye method variation of color is possible.

Basalt is a volcanic stone that creates lightfast shades of black and grey. It is the most common rock type to cover earth’s surface. Rich in magnesium and iron, it is formed of solidified lava. The stone is often crushed for use in construction, because of it’s durability and strength. We use basalt dye extracted from quarries in Italy, France and Cyprus.

  • Regenerative agriculture is the process of working with nature to restore degraded soils using a closed-loop system.
  • This is done through various methods such as doing crop rotation to introduce nutrients to the soil, low tilling of the ground like digging the soil to store more carbon dioxide and using compost.
  • The practices implemented are dependent on the local ecosystem. There are no fixed practices, rather it is about adopting holistic principles of farming that improve soil health.
  • It increases biodiversity, makes the soil more flood and drought resilient, has larger yields and enhances the habitat for wildlife.
  • Regenerative agriculture also improves the cleanliness of water and lessens pollution, as no pesticides are used. Increased nutrient levels in the soil also help store more carbon dioxide.

Care

We recommend a cold wash on a gentle cycle using natural detergent and hang drying for all our products. Hand washing is always a good option too. If you are not separating delicates, use a laundry bag to protect the fabric from getting damaged.

To reduce washes, we recommend airing or freezing your garments and spot cleaning whenever you have a stain. Airing helps in getting rid of the odour and you can do this by leaving your clothing outside overnight. Freezing gets rid of smell, mildew, and moths and is effective when done for 6-12 hours.
