Rib Overankle Socks

Our rib overankle socks end just above the ankle bone. They are knitted in organic cotton rib and in wool blends at our knit factory in the South of France, in plain colors or with stripes. Some colors come together in packs of three.

About our Rib Overankle Socks

All of our socks are fully fashioned, which means socks that are knitted to shape so they can be connected at seams without cutting the fabric. Fully fashioning is more time-consuming than cut and sew. We do this because the process itself doesn’t create waste, as nothing needs to be cut off, and these socks are also more comfortable because there are no seams. The socks are sewn together using a chain stitch that connects the pieces into one. This technique ensures durability and comfort, as the seams are flatter. All our socks are made in the South of France, in Castres, in a small family-run factory that works with craft methods rooted in the region and specialises in knits made of natural materials. The machine they use makes no waste. The comfort is more important than the precision of the measurement for us in using these machines.

Our rib overankle socks come in organic cotton or recycled cashmere rib knit. Using organic cotton is important for us as it supports good soil health and ecosystems. Organic farms also generally support more plant and animal species, supporting the biodiversity of farms. It relies on natural cycles and local conditions. We want to ensure that no harmful chemicals are used in the production process, water consumption is controlled, water is not contaminated, and workers' rights are also preserved. Organic cotton is great for socks because of its durability, breathability, and softness. The material is also hypoallergenic. We use recycled cashmere for our socks because it is a durable and resilient fiber that resists wrinkles and maintains shape well. The fiber is also warmer than wool, making it great for colder weather. Using recycled cashmere allows us to use a waste material, and as the fibers are already dyed, the dyeing stage does not need to be repeated. Sorting experts combine these scraps to reach different color combinations through a mechanical spinning process.
