Role Overview
The Associate Designer will support the design team across key stages of product development. This role involves assisting with the coordination of samples, communication with factories, and organization of seasonal collections. They will work closely with creative director and development team to ensure accuracy and consistency throughout the design process.The ideal candidate combines strong organizational skills with a clear understanding of collection direction, while caring deeply about both detail and overall consistency. Baserange team is located all over the world so applicant must be fluent in English or native English speaker. Application must be sent in English to be qualified. This person will be handing collection over to Production team based Toulouse.
Key Responsibilities
Production
- Oversee prototype and sampling process from development and handing off to production team
- Review and provide SMS comments
- Confirm / edit measurement charts with factories for production readiness
- Manage all communication with contractors across development stages
- Track and monitor collection development timelines
Development
- Create technical drawings and development tech packs
- Build and maintain color and fabric pdfs for each season
- Develop and organize seasonal collection pdf files
- Communicate directly with factories throughout development
- Lead proto comments and fittings
- Finalize all tech packs, including fabric details, descriptions, trims, and ensure accuracy before submission
- Oversee shipping and logistics for trims, lab dips, prototypes, and samples (incoming and outgoing)
- Manage all samples to ensure smooth movement through the development process
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in production, preferably within fashion or apparel
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel and CAD
- Based in Paris with willingness to travel to Toulouse and Copenhagen for meetings
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously
- Experience working with woven, cut and sew, and knits
- Experience creating measurement charts and grading charts
- Must be fluent in writing and speaking English
