- Unsere recycelte Wolle stammt aus einer Recyclingfabrik in der Nähe unserer Strickerei in Okzitanien, Frankreich.
- Die Fabrik arbeitet hauptsächlich mit recycelter Wolle, die aus alten, gebrauchten Wollkleidungsstücken aus den Sammelboxen lokaler Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen hergestellt wird.
- Die Arbeit mit recycelter Wolle bereits vor vielen anderen ermöglichte es der Fabrik, ihren Betrieb fortzuführen und lokale Materialien herzustellen.
- Wolle ist die am häufigsten recycelte Faser und war die erste Faser, die recycelt wurde.
- Wolle hat das Potenzial, mindestens 30 Jahre zu halten und bis zu sechsmal recycelt zu werden.
- Das Recycling von Wolle führt zu geringeren Methanemissionen von Schafen, einer geringeren Landnutzung und weniger Wasserverschmutzung durch das Waschen von Wolle.
- Die von uns verwendete Wolle wird in einem geschlossenen Kreislaufsystem recycelt. Das bedeutet, dass die Fasern zu Garn verarbeitet werden, um neue Produkte von ähnlicher Qualität und für eine ähnliche Verwendung wie das ursprüngliche Produkt herzustellen.
Recycled wool doesn't need to be washed often. To reduce washes, you can air your garment out, steam, hang it up while showering, use a delicate fabric refreshing spray or brush it. Spot clean stains immediately when they appear, because stains can be hard to get off after a while. Hand washing is preferable. If you prefer, you can also wash on a delicate or wool wash programme at 30°C. To protect the surface of the fabric, use a washing bag and turn the garment inside out. Use enzyme-free, pH-neutral laundry detergent. Enzymes in regular detergents break down protein-based fibres like wool. Do not use bleach or fabric softener, as they can damage the fabric. Do not tumble dry.
Dry your knitted wool flat; it might stretch if hung. Knits should be stored folded, as hanging knitwear can change the shape. Put cedar wood or lavender in your drawers and make sure your knitwear is clean when you store it to avoid moths.
